Hacienda La Esmeralda. Without them, the remarkable Gesha variety might not be what it is today. In 2004, the Peterson family won the Best of Panama competition with their exceptional Gesha coffee, a variety that was previously unknown in the region. This iconic farm has been instrumental in shaping the global reputation of Panama’s Gesha coffee and remains one of the most renowned farms in the world.
Process
Portón 2 NB was harvested on January 06th, 2026 in the Porton lot located in Hacienda La Esmeralda’s El Velo farm. After harvest, the coffee cherries were taken to Hacienda La Esmeralda’s mill in Palmira, where they were slow dried for 23 days on raised beds.
